ABB Sae Sadelmi, is an engineering and construction company of the ABB Group, operating for 70 years in the fields of power generation, transmission and distribution systems, railway electrification, infrastructures and industrial plants. The Company has deep experience in turn-key contracts, managing every stage of particularly complex projects, from engineering to procurement, from construction to commissioning and maintenance. ABB Sae Sadelmi is present in the market with an integrated offer, which includes in-house component production: generators, boilers, steel structures for transmission lines, insulators and hardware for railway electrification. With 16,000 MW installed in the last 10 years in steam, gas, cogeneration, diesel and hydroelectric power plants, it has consolidated its role as an EPC contractor. Currently the Company, which is present in 42 countries all over the world, is working on large-scale projects: for instance, in Abu Dhabi, where the 720 MW Al Taweelah power plant has reached an advanced stage of construction. ABB Sae Sadelmi is responsible for the mechanical, electrical, I&C complete systems relevant to the Balance of Plant in addition to the basic civil design and the total installation and field assembly works. In Qatar the 625 MW Ras Abu Fontas power plant is being built, it feeds a desalination plant like the Al Taweelah plant and consists of five latest-generation 125 MW gas turbine (the 13E2 supplied by ABB Kraftwerke), five boilers supplied by Combustion Engineering and five desalination units with a total of 33 mgd capacity supplied by Weir Westgarth. Today the Company employs 5,500 people, one third working in Italy and two thirds abroad. |
