Lecturer
Dr. Mark Wilf
 |
Recognized
as a global expert for membrane applications,
Dr. Wilf provides expertise to the engineering
and scientific
community worldwide. His expertise includes
reverse osmosis,
nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, microfiltration
technologies
applied for seawater and brackish water
desalination, potable
water treatment, and industrial and municipal
wastewater reclamation. |
Dr. Wilf has been involved in process development,
system
design, project execution, plant operation and
maintenance
of large, commercial membrane plants in the
US, Europe and
Middle East since 1977. Dr Wilf has been involved
in development of new membrane treatment
processes and optimization of membrane technologies.
Some of his inventions have resulted in
patent applications and are being used in commercial
desalination systems.
Dr.
Wilf is a regular contributor to professional
journals, author of chapters on membrane technology
processes and applications in a number of books.
He edited and wrote with coauthors
The Guidebook to Membrane Desalination Technology
published in 2006. A second book on
membrane technology The Guidebook to Membrane
Technology for Wastewater Reclamation
appeared in January 2010.
The
seminar will cover the current commercial membrane
bioreactor technology and will
include the following topics:
Introduction
to membrane technology for wastewater reclamation
Terms
and definitions in membrane bioreactor technology
Objectives
of wastewater treatment processes
Basic
configuration of membrane bioreactors
Review
of commercial offering of membrane equipment
for membrane bioreactor systems
Configuration
of commercial membrane bioreactor systems
Equipment
components of commercial membrane bioreactors
Process
control in membrane bioreactor systems
Determination
of operating parameters of membrane bioreactor
systems
Engineering
tools for membrane bioreactor system design
Economics
of application of membrane bioreactor to wastewater
treatment, components of
system and operating cost
This
is a one day seminar that will provide technical
and commercial information to water professionals
that are interested in practical aspects of
implementation of membrane bioreactor
technology.
The
presentation will be illustrated with examples
of configuration and operating parameters of
commercial MBR systems.
